Big bucks showing up for 2010

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

As the dry weather continues throughout the Northwest, deer and other wildlife are being drawn to the lush food plots scattered around BHR.  We’ve been photographing tons of bear and moose, and recently snapped a shot of a beautiful, wide 5×5 whitetail buck browsing soybeans in the Creek Bend plot.  Check out the “Bucks of 2010” gallery on the website to see this bruiser!

Turkey opening season yields FAT BIRDS

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

BHCR produces trophy triple-bearded turkey with just over 22 inches of measured beard! Two more toms were shot opening weekend as well. Spring bear season looks to be blockbuster with over 6 bears (mixture of cinnamon and black) spotted in the main valley already.

New bridge!

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

East and West united! BHCR has just completed a 40′ steel bridge with the help of Lee Wilkerson and Wilcon Construction to finally provide unobstructed, year-round access across the creek. Over the past three years, a losing battle has been waged against the spring runoff and beavers to keep the culverts clear and functioning. After the third road washout due to a beaver blockage, our family got serious and called in the big guns to install an engineered bridge with massive  abutments.
