BHC is always busy! Take a look at some of the things we’re working on.

Bad weather causes planting haitus

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

BHCR spring 2010 planting on hold due to heavy rain! The ranch experienced over 1.5 inches of rain on the 27th and 28th of May, which made planting of the historically wet Lessig food plot impossible. Luckily the newly created Creek Bend plot planted was on the 26th of May, so the heavy rains will help with germination there. Hopefully the moisture will carry over through the summer.

New bridge!

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

East and West united! BHCR has just completed a 40′ steel bridge with the help of Lee Wilkerson and Wilcon Construction to finally provide unobstructed, year-round access across the creek. Over the past three years, a losing battle has been waged against the spring runoff and beavers to keep the culverts clear and functioning. After the third road washout due to a beaver blockage, our family got serious and called in the big guns to install an engineered bridge with massiveĀ  abutments.
